The Expertise Centre for Technical Theatre participated as an expert in the ESCO sectoral reference committee for the Arts, Entertainment and Recreation sector. The sectoral reference committees are composed of experts and develop a nomenclature for the sector. This nomenclature is used to link national and regional employment initiatives so that job seekers and companies find each other across borders.
The Expertise Centre for Technical Theatre was selected, in the person of researcher Chris Van Goethem, who chaired the committee, to be part of ESCO’s sectoral reference committee “Arts, entertainment and recreation”. ESCO stands for European Skills / Competences, Qualifications and Occupations and is an initiative of the European Commission.
The sector includes performing arts and culture houses, the fine arts, museums, libraries and collections, the organization of sport and outdoor recreation and gambling activities.
